Arc Communications offers translation and localization services to government bodies and corporate and private clients.
We are looking for someone to join our translation team to help us provide our clients with a level of translation quality they will be satisfied with.
Job Outline
Language Specialist – J-E Translation
You will be reviewing (by referring to translation style guides etc.), editing, rewriting and evaluating translated business documents and other translations.
You will be required to help develop the skills of translators by providing them with feedback and advice based on your translation reviews.
Permanent positions also available depending on performance.
Pre-requisites
Two years or more work experience as a language specialist performing translation-based work
Be a native speaker of English (Please note that all interviews and in-house communication are carried out in Japanese)
Have work experience using the MS Office software suite including MS Word and MS Excel
Have excellent communication skills to ensure smooth communication between project managers and translators
In addition to the above, the following skills are also recommended.
Knowledge of languages other than English and Japanese
Practical experience with translation support software such as TRADOS etc.
Practical experience with DTP software

Hours
10:00AM to 6:00PM
Salary
Hourly wage: 1,800 to 2,000 yen (Decided through interviews with the candidate with consideration paid to the candidate’s experience and abilities)
